The recession seems to be hitting companies hard at the moment. To start with I thought that it would be just the young companies that were suffering and that would really be expected as you do not tend to make much of a profit in your first few years anyway. However, there are quite a few big companies going down as well and it seems rather a shame. Some companies are perhaps old fashioned and have not moved with the times but they remain as part of my childhood memories and I feel quite upset when I can no longer see their presence anywhere. I would hate the companies that made toys I played wit as a child to disappear, companies like Estes Rockets and woodland scenics as I would love to be able to buy my children and grand children things that they make. It is a shame that we have to have these recessions and a pity that all companies cannot go on trading forever, but I guess that is the way life is and we cannot have everything that we want. The only thing to do is to keep supporting the companies that we like and hope that will be enough to keep them going.
