Design/Fit and Finish

The A5's exterior speaks for itself — this is one of the most strikingly styled cars on the road today. The interior is also a first-rate design, with attractive gauges and a sleek driver-centric cockpit. Nearly every control in the A5 is backlit in red, which creates a cool spaceshiplike effect at night. Supple material on the dash top and the sides of the center stack drive up the A5's perceived-quality index, though there's some chintzy hard plastic on the center stack itself and around the gauge cluster. Fit and finish was good on our tester, save for that rattling trim panel.

Jimmy Parise Site Peugeot reveals 308 CC

• On sale early 2009
• Four-seater to star at Paris motor show
• 1.6-litre petrol or 2.0-litre diesel engines

This is the new 308 CC, which will go on sale early next year.

The four-seater will be unveiled at the Paris motor show in October and is expected to cost around £300 more than the equivalent hatchback models.

There will be a choice of 150bhp 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol and 140bhp 2.0-litre turbodiesel engines.

The 2008 Mazda Mazda5's all-new front end (including fascia, grille, headlights and foglights) gives it a more aggressive yet still pleasant anime-character grin. The noticeable green cast to our test car's Golden Sand Metallic paint job — while surprising, given the lack of any hint of green in the paint's name — is attractive and just different enough to make it stand out in a sea of beige and silver family cars wherever we took it. New LED taillights give the 5 a cool high-tech look, in addition to being more energy efficient and long-lasting.
